I've spent the last day implementing a relatively simple website called Prompts (https://prompts.iwonderdesigns.com) based on an idea my wife had for a creative exercise. The game is this: she sends three words to a few fellow photographers who then have a week to capture photos inspired by those words. At the end of the week, they compare their work—a way of learning about each other's perspectives and creative interpretations while giving the week a simple, purposeful focus.
I thought this would be an interesting concept to expand to a wider audience, and it seemed like a perfect project for AI assistance. I turned to Factory.ai, a coding LLM that has consistently produced high-quality code from a single prompt.
My experience was extremely positive. In my initial prompt, I provided both the general functionality and the motivation behind the project. I've found that giving AIs this context helps them fill in gaps more intelligently. The first output was almost exactly what I expected, and more importantly, it had crafted an architecture that was extensible and scalable.
Here is what it did:
Factory asked about 15 key questions it didn't feel comfortable assuming, and after I answered, it generated a site with:
I then added several UI improvements and features:
Costs:
Total cost to produce and sustain: $12.00
